I'll be interested too - mine doesn't have HUD or TV but otherwise has pretty much every option going - think it listed at £51.5k when new (I bought it as a demo) and now has fairly similar miles on the clock (60k).

Going to be difficult to find a comparable car but this one is pretty close:

http://www.pistonheads.co.uk/sales/1418244.htm

A little newer with a few thousand fewer miles. Perhaps at a guess it went for +/-£21k?

Maybe makes the OPs car £20-22k??

Glasses guide say this:

BMW 5 Series 535d M Sport
3.0TD Diesel 4-door Saloon
6 Speed Automatic Rear Wheel Drive
Year: 2006 56
Mileage: 70,000

Part-exchange Price:
Excellent condition:
£16600

Average condition:
£14850

Below average condition:
£13200

I reckon you'd struggle to get more than £18.5 to 19k in the real world with that sort of mileage. If you tried part exing with a dealer they will knock off a straight £1200 for non standard tyres (standard being the Continental SP2's non run flats for a 2006 car).

Now you've just depressed me!! I can console myself safe in the knowledge I have the right tyres I suppose!!

I think the challenge will be finding the right buyer, I bought it in november and probably paid too much ( but I wanted the spec) at that time there were 535's from 18k -26k all 06 or 56 plates with circa 55k -60k on the clock.

Part exing probably will be the best idea as I have been offered 19k already against another 911 ( it will be my 10th !!)

Looks like the 535 will be an expensive mistake for me !!!

Thanks

£19k part ex eek

I would jump at that mate! Smashing offer especially with the new F10 around the corner the E60 prices are sure to tumble...although the 540d M Sport wont be around until at least next spring IMHO... smile

Not so expensive if you actually keep it for more than 5 minutes (assuming you mean Nov 09 above). Why not keep it for a year or two? You only lose money when you sell it.

At least you didn't buy it from new. Someone must have taken a big hit on this car given all the options that are fitted. Care to tell us what you paid for it?

7.5k miles for around £5k doesn't sound quite as bad as £5k dropped in 3 months or so.

What do you do to your tyres? New when you bought at 62k miles and new again at 69.5k miles???

furious Better it was you I suppose - that's the type of thing that I get really annoyed at myself for doing but brush it off after sulking for a few hours. However, if the other half does something so fcensoreding stupid I'd struggle not to throttle her!! C'est la vie.

Feel exactly the same about the 3 series I bought last July.
Hopefully only a month or two and I'll be able to get something else.
