To Many Stickies ???

Is it me or do we have the most dam stickies on this sight ??
The page is now more than half full of them, surly we don't need that many...

They all seem useful/relevant so not sure what could be pruned?

Open to suggestions of course.

not sure if we need the factory open day of 2009 any longer, it might be a good idea to have another subforum for these kind of posts, but that would probably a
thing with the pistonheads guys.

A subforum with the stickies would be a great idea. All seem relevant and useful considering the lousy search option

So long as they remain easily available (for those of us that are still building) it would be great to free up more space on the first page if possible.

maybe not the factory 2009 openday but a post for Ultima club events we will be interested in attending maybe!!!

doesnt see the point in the Adrian Flux thing as hes not competitive in the insurance as i found out... Thats not relivant to us is it??

how about Stig, 1 stickie marked as stickies or ?? and then the standard list you have within that stickie... At least we all know where they are seeing as we use them all??? and it wont take up the top part of the page...But then does that matter

at least a solution without interaction of the forum admins. Stig could do it I suppose.

I think what people are saying is that something like this would be better

Then from there the top link would take you to a stickies only page.

Although Stig moderates the forum I doubt whether he has the administrative rights to construct such a page as this would have to be at web developer level, I could be wrong but think its a web guys job.

My penniworth! Too many stickies..maybe categorise them under headings - like:

Owner Piccies, Vids and specs
Top Ideas
Owner Mods Library
Factory upgrades
3rd Party bits and services
Owner Arranged Tours

...and ditch the Insurance Ad..or add it to 3rd party etc.

That reduces the amount of stickies to 6?

Creating sub-forums etc. would require re-coding the forum which is a pain (and I'd need to convince HM to do it).

A more practical solution (and one I can effect immediately) is to create a 'stickies' thread with links to all the stickied subjects. With just the most timely sticky visible from the front page too.

can the back ground of the stickies be slightly different as they dont stand out like before???

and dont forget the ultima photos in there 2, dont want them to get lost

I don't know why but just seeing that up there as a commercial seroiusly rubs me up the wrong way. I dunno, it takes a smidgen of pleasure out of what I see as a non-commercial site as it is in you face all the time! Bit like having a metal splinter wedged in your pinky, and you can't get it out!

I have to accept that insurance is a necessary evil, but evil, in my opinion it is!... at their prices...

Anyone feel the same?

I'd betta go....quick now I have started summat!
