I'll reserve my judgement for some proper photos, Mules never look well.

True, but as was said on the thread - if it's been doing high speed testing, c.200mph+, it must have the same basic shape as that mule.

In which case, it'll look awesome...

Am I the only one to think that Pagani have gone OTT in their pricing?

The new car is set to be at least £1M which seems massively expensive given that this wil be their 'mainstream' model and not some limited run of 4-5 special cars.

Dont get me wrong Pagani make fabulous cars and they have exclusivity on their side but I still think they are now too expensive for a 'new' manufacturer and given the price of the opposition.

A veyron is still significantly quicker and an Enzo has a lot more brand qudos/heritage for less money.

I'm sure they will still find buyers given the low production numbers of all their models but their prices seem to have increased massively in a very short space of time for a company with no racing history or the herritage of the more established hyper cars.

How, it looks like a zonda with a different rear light cluster. Hardly new...

I fail to see the point in these type of statements, they're not making a racing car! They're making an exclusive hypercar, which is very very good and has proven itself already over the last few years!

Come off it , it is very different to the old Zonda it has much more rounded lines

A logical progression

I agree, but, they are selling everything they make at the moment and they seem to be 'the supercar to own'. With the likes of Peter Saywell having a one-off made for him and the amount of interest around the Cinque, Pagani can ask what they want and people will be willing to pay it.

IMO I don't really think racing heritage seems to be much of an issue; they are extravagent road cars that like the Veyron/Enzo etc. will very rarely ever see a track anyway!

A logical progression, yea.... a step forward, yea.... something new? eh no - it just looks like a Zonda facelift design revision.

As I said before, it'll reserve my full opinion until an actual car is released.

Well you could say that about any supercar maker Lambo Ferrari Porsche they are all only design revisions on an old theme

Can't wait for this to come out - hopefully it'll mean a Zonda F Roadster in that dark red colour will drop into my price range!?

Well, I can dream.

I hope they don't dismiss styling for performance/speed etc. Zondas could have 1.6l Hyudai engines for all I care, they're about looks, noise and mad-crazy-Italian-ness......

However, I can't see them dissapointing on any level!

The point is that at this end of the market it isnt just about performance. If that were tha case Bugatti wouldnt have sold many Veyrons and all of the Arabs would be driving around in SSC Aeros instead.

People buy into the whole history of the manufacturers and having an established and sucessful racing history is a big part of that. Why do you think every new Ferrari has a prominent plaque on the dash commemorating their 16 F1 constructors titles?

I dont disagree that the Veyron is good. Its a brilliant car but Paganni seemed to have tried to leapfrog themselves to the top of the hypercar tree whilst having a very short history, no racing experience and 'only' having a Merc AMG engine stuck in the back.

I disagree (becuase I'm on the internet, so I can) with both comments.

People buy Zondas becuase they look incredible, go like stink and sound like nothing on earth.

If people wanted performance only, there are plenty of fast cars out there (namely Ferraris); in addition there are plenty of cars with long racing pedigrees (namely Ferraris); but those who can afford, want something off the planet - like the Zonda or even the Veyron; and for one, I agree with creating a car that is like no other, and has a price tag to match....what does it matter? If you could afford one, you'd have one! IMHO

I have to agree, even seeing one one the streets is a great experience, you don't have to drive/own one to like them.
When seeing Ferrari, Aston, Porsche etc it doesn't give you that same thrill as seeing a zonda.
Pagani can only get stronger, hope they continue to produce such great cars. In a way it is a shame they are not lower in price because it might rule out the chance of seeing one in the wild.... saying that though, the arabs do love expensive fast toys! If it can match a veyron in a straight line they will sell quick. As for a track, i don't think there is much quicker is there? A veyron can certainly not compete

I am a huge fan of Pagani, but I too am a little worried about the current pricing of the new car. Let’s not forget they are going to be making 40 a year at close to £1 million each. Now these are much higher production numbers than they have ever done before. Does that kind of customer currently exist and will they want to spend a million on a car that 40 of their mates are going to have within a year? I'm not sure.

Also where does that leave Pagani when he wants to build the inevitable specials based on the C9? If we look at his past pricing you are going to be looking at close to a 50% uplift over a standard car, i.e. loads of money.

So what positive can we take out of this? Well we can expect the C9 to be mega and the car to have with your lottery win. The car will also be a world model so will sell well in the USA so justifying the increased production numbers.

The thing that most interests me is the effect the C9 will have on Zonda values. These cars are already a good investment; I would expect the prices to rise when the C9 comes out as they could now look like a bargain. Also they will be a lot rarer that the C9 in a very short space of time. So folks if you have the wad, grab one now

Are they really going to be £1m?

There is no real reason for this - the engine costs aren't going up massively, carbon fibre costs are dropping massively.

I can't imagine them selling 40+ cars per year at that price, half maybe.

Thing is, there's a massive difference between people who can afford a £400,000 car, and those who can afford a £1,000,000 car.

Witness the 15 Reventons currently for sale on JamesList.

Having said all that, i think they'll sell them all - they are known as being automotive art now, so can probably charge what they want.

There are 15 Reventon's on the James list advertised but only 4 are actually for sale! The 4 are advertised either through different brokers or as is the case with the UK car as a private sale which means it looks like there are more for sale than actually is:

Same pictures but one say's it's in the USA and the other states Germany.
