Do you think that people that have weak hand shakes realise or do they do it by choice?

Will anyone here (male) admit to having a weak handshake and explain themselves?

It's completely off putting when meeting someone you need to speak to!

What, between those (urghh), and the twots that grab your fingers whilst almost holding their hands horizontal in some sort of 'superiority' display; what's that all about? Love giving them a good squeeze and a twist...

I know as soon as I shake their hand I instantly think what a wet lettuce they are and that I can walk all over them.

I then think they will be about as useful as a chocolate teapot.

(see what I did there?)smile

I know what you mean.

If I shake hands with a limp wristed bummer (as I like to call them) I will immediatley punch them in the face* and tell them to man the fk up**.

You can tell a lot from a man from their handshakes, that's why I don't shake hands. I fight them on sight. To the death.

Business has been quiet recently, and we don't seem to get many jobs that I go out and quote for.

I wonder if its related...

A good, full firm grasp of the hand and make sure you don't accidently scrape their inside palm
with your fingers.nono

THIS

idiots with something to prove, if you're here for an interview you may as well turn round and walk out again

But yes, too limp can be a little irritating

There's those that go in too quick as well and you get a poor grasp on the hand. Very poor form.

My handshake is firm, I do have large hands though so I have to be careful it's not too firm.

I've sometimes tried it for a laugh, like handing someone a carrier bag of offal, and they do have a look of disgust, but i can't keep a straight face when trying it

I like to hold the shake, savour it. Connect with the other person

ALl to ooften its over and done with too quickly, just a touch of the hands, not allowing for any sort of limpness or a stronghold either way.

Why cant people just do normal handshakes? The squeeze as hard as you can types are just as bad. I always presume they are over compensating.

A good firm handshake is the sign of a real man (like me)

A weak handshake is the sign of a doormat

A over the top attempt at domination with a rough squeeze or twist is the sign of a wker not worth wasting your time on.

+1

It always make me chuckle when someone gives me a firm handshake, as I thought this sort of rubbish died out along with yuppies and red braces. Don't over analyse a handshake. It means nothing!

Macho post? It's a comment lots of people make and a genuine discussion on a section of a public forum designed for general discussion.

Thanks for the comment on my car, unfortunately in my situation practicality is more important than speed and looks...

Tosspot.
