599 just for a change! then back to a car with engine in the right place!
+1 I think these cars are just overlooked - all the ingredients are there (Enzo engine, all the F1 technology etc), but I think the styling is just not flamboyant enough. Seem to be slowing down as well on price - £130k for the cheapest. If he doesn't want a Lambo ('cos i'd go Murci' 670-SV) then I some suggestions for short affair.
1. McLaren SLR
2. Mercedes SL65 AMG Black
3. Porsche 997 GT2
4. 599 GTB Fiorano F1
5. F430 Scuderia
Or if you like a bit of Ferrari history for small money I quite like the Ferrari 512 TR at Verdi.
I love spending other peoples money

Hi,
A friend has a 458 ordered but it looks like its going to be 2011 before he gets it, currently has 430 spider but he fancies a change in the mean time. If it was me I would buy a murci but he not that keen on Lambos, so what would you buy?
What i'd buy in his situation would depend on such factors as budget and whether he owns any other sports cars.A friend has a 458 ordered but it looks like its going to be 2011 before he gets it, currently has 430 spider but he fancies a change in the mean time. If he was doing low mileage then i'd be tempted with something that holds it's value well like a £160-£170,000 Mclaren SLR. Another bonus is that when the 458 is delivered it'll feel much more nimble than the SLR which is an exciting contrast after being used to the heavy Mclaren, also if things were such as his financial situation changed (presuming he can't afford/justify to keep two expensive cars on his fleet atm) then could keep the SLR as it goes nicely together with the 458 as a GT/Sportscar combo.
I'm in the same situation myself in waiting for the 458.. I currently drive a F430 spider and every time I drive something else I'm left dissapointed... I guess the only natural choice would be a Scuderia but can predict a big loss on the Scuderia by the time I get the 458.. so I've finally decided to wait and with the summer not to far away what better than the Spider..
