Do dealers price match independents or price match each other?

I use Barry Jones Auto in Stevenage. Both mechs are ex Specialist cars. Very knowledgeable, trustworthy and thorough.

I know my car inside out and often know more about it than mechanics. It took me some time to find Barry and Paul who know more than me!

How are they pricewise?

I need to have some advice i can trust on whether i should replace any of the cooling components on my 55k mile E39. Also need some advice on the suspension. Looking for someone I can trust not to rip me off on those two items as ultimately they are 'discretionary'.

They charge £60 per hour - the going rate for a good BMW independent specialist.

I entrusted them to convert my E36 M3 SMG to manual. Many independents don't know where to turn when asked to do a job like that. After completion there was a coolant leak. I took the car back to them, they checked it out and decided to replace all the cooling components for the cost of parts only because they felt bad they didn't spot this when the conversion was done.

They know me by name (Tommy Lee) and if you mention I recommended you, they will understand you will have exacting standards like myself. Give them a call on 01438 316663. Don't haev the wrong idea if they can't speak to you immediately - they are always extremely busy.

Top work thanks for the info. I'll give them a tinkle. Makes the Indy that takes care of my Pork look very reasonable (based near Milton Keynes).
