I hate the whole Valentine's menu thing and all that forced romance, candles, red decoration everywhere, and little baby warriors with bows and arrows. its one of the worst nights of the year for a good meal, (only beaten by New Year's Eve).I once went out and the whole thing was so appalling that I never did it again. Luckily, the OH is quite happy to give it a a miss, (provided suitable card and possible gift is proffered). So, do you go out, and have you ever had a good meal on Feb 14??..............

No. Did once, it was awful. I was sat closer to the bloke next to me than I was my missus, it was stupidly expensive, and there was no choice on the menu!

Now stay in, much nicer smile

There's 364 other days in the year to take her out that are much nicer thumbup

Cook her a nice meal, go for a nice walk, watch a DVD she wants to watch, massage, sex, bed.

Avoid any restaurants, bars etc like the plague.

Sat 13th

Sun 14th

What a load of crap.

I take Mrs Peach out every year for VD.

I have to, otherwise she makes my life hell.

I also have to buy her a card, and write something soppy in it.

The whole thing is absurd, but I must pander to her insecurities, and her barmy Mill-&-Boon ideas about "romance".

On the bright side, having pushed the boat out, she will hopefully have had her dose of old Peachy, and leave me alone for a good while.

No, the first year we were together I didn't get her a card or take her out for a meal. She was more than happy with this and might still get me a card.

Last year we spent it doing some DIY at home and had a takeaway curry whilst watching Ron Burgundy (I think)

I doubt very much this year will be any different. If I want to be romantic I will be, but like many of the other guys here I refuse to bow to the pressures of the day.

Isn't it about getting balls-deep rather than worrying about what you eat? I dunno, kids these days..

A divine dinner will be prepared by myself, followed by us going out and getting fking wasted on hard liquor. We may dabble in some class As to finish the night off.

Who said romance is dead eh?

Don't make it so hard on yourself. Simply don't tidy your room on any day but feb 13th and then invite them into a clean room on the 14th. Simple and free and hopefully well received.

She's working this weekend so took her out to one of the Crazy Bear hotels last Friday - well, well worth it!

For me its double jeapordy since the 14th is also the OH birthday! So this year its; Friday night dinner for 2, Saturday party with friends, Sunday dinner with family. A good compromise...I hope!
