Diamondbrite on 3 Series?
Discussion
Dear all,
I had my 3-series applied with diamondbrite when i purchased it, including the little kit with all the extra's in it, for free.
Problem is I’ve noticed a few light scratches and marks that could be lessened by a good polish, but can you polish over diamondbrite? or do you have to re-apply it??
Any help appreciated

Hi there,
I own a Bodyshop in Whitby, North Yorkshire, I trained for BMW for 7 years in the bodyshop. With regards to your problem the best thing to do is to get a machine polisher and some 'farecla G3' which is an advanced liquid compund polish which cuts into the laquer and will remove any light scratches . There are other polishes like this by 3M etc but this one is by far the best! Be carefull not to get the paint to hot tho or you will burn through the paint, just keep the polisher moning backwards and forwards constantly and not in one place for to long. This will however remove the dimondbrite so you will have to re apply the dimondbrite to the affected panels. I hope this helps if you need any assistance please dont hessitate to get in touch.
Thanks
Chris

G3 and a rotary polisher in the hands of an inexperienced detailer are a potential recipe for disaster! Be careful!
If you really don't know what you're doing leave it to a professional.
Pad choice will be important and even then, in my humble experience, G3 always needs G10 thereafter....and then you go from there.
