Nearside door not closing

Just wondering if anyone had a thoughts on my post a few days ago?

My drivers door began sticking the other week... started to become a bit embarassing when wanting to get back in...

Armed with a cloth and can of WD40 attacked the mechanism.

Good as gold now... might be worth a try as cant see how shutting a coat in the door could cause damage unless perhapes the pin or mechanism is not screwed in tight or bent...
