My X358 2.7 TDVI Sovereign will be three in July, so far I have clocked up a total of 17K mile. Now retired, I anticipate that my annual mileage will be about 5K in future, I have had the car serviced annually to date. When should I have her serviced in future, annually, every 15K miles or when the service required indicator comes on? I intend to keep the car for a long time but one never knows so maintaining a service history could be advisable.

I think that as your answer

Also the book says mileage or time, what ever comes first

If that were my car I'd change the oil and filter every year regardless of what the service indicator or schedule says. Clean engines and turbos last a lot longer - no harm in changing the oil more frequently than the schedule suggests - and it might save you a fortune too.

I agree with Jaguar Steve.

Personally I would change the oil & filters every 10K - oil is very cheap compared to new engines.

Ive got the dealer service sheets for your car (and mine)
If you PM me your email I will send it to you
Re the servicing..(Officially)it should be serviced whichever occurs first....so either anually, every 15k or when the service light indicates. The service light takes into account long/short journeys, how hard the car has been driven etc.

I would change the oil half way through that

I get my oil analysed at www.blackstone-labs.com and even at 10,000 miles that is to long
