Tried this for the first time on Saturday evening, and must say, I was pleasantly surprised.

You get the clean crisp hoppy Becks beer taste but without the side effect of alcohol. The texture was just the same as normal lager too, thin and watery - easy to drink.

Beck's says that the reason the beer tastes like the normal stuff is because they remove the alcohol after the brewing process.

Will i buy it again? Possibly.
Makes sense as an alternative to the normal lager for designated drivers.

Alcohol Free (apart from 0.05%)

Spooky, I was going so suggest the same - Maybe Kasteel Bruin for a true 'righting of the wrong'.

Kasteel Bruin weighs in a 12% I believe... yikes

Occasionally get a bout of Gout, it fit's the bill 110%, also good (if you can get it) if you have to drive. Even better if you have to drive turn it into a shandy.

I have tried it and its very good.

Carling C2 2% is also good if you don't want a full strength one but difficult to find.

Ideal for when it is your turn to drive.

I quaffed 12 bottles of the stuff at a poker evening a few months ago and drove home, and it was perfectly drinkable. Much better than all the other 'zero' percent beers.

£2.50 for 6 in Tescos too.

Sorry but Carling C2 tastes of nothing but slightly funny tasting sparkling water.

Is it not like eating low fat food, whereby they replace the goodness with stacks of salt?

I know someone said they simply followed the same procedure then took the alcohol out - but they must have to bolster the flavour somehow, so whats the catch? scratchchin

Im not a lager fan anyway - and the liklihood of me being able to get any of this stuff is nigh on zero where I am.

Jupiler do a alco free beer, and its like wringing out a gnats bladder vomit

Don't think they add anything to it to enhance the flavour.

Their website states: “This malt beverage has less than 0.5% alcohol by volume, but has 100% of the taste. But creating a full, rich non-alcoholic beer is a challenge. It’s a race to stop the fermentation before alcohol can form, but not before it achieves the distinctive taste and aroma of a Beck’s.”

Heres me thinking that Bitburger Drive would of been suggested already what with this being a motoring forum and all.

I was just about to suggest that. Far nicer than the Becks in my opinion, but nothing comes close to actual beer.
