The dreaded happened ..... the clutch went on my Gallardo.

In the end I took it to Lambo Sevenoaks.

Steve (Husdon) - after sales care and servicing - priced it very competitively and I couldn't fault the overall customer service. Given it's start up they've done well on the set up so far and I'll definitely be going back in the summer for the service.

I know this reads a bit like an annual appraisal, but sometimes it's nice to share the good news stories ...

Also, handy location for those of us in the south east of the south east.

Nope. David (from Lambo London) has moved down and does the work on site

Oh, OK, I was told by them a couple of months ago that all repairs went to reading, it kind of put me off after reading other opinions on here. I may use them in the future then.

I understand that the work is done at the Jag/Aston premises a mile or so away at Dunton Green.

Peter - yes, I think that used to be true (prior to David moving down)

Ken - you're right, it is. It's just down the hill. As they are starting up, they don't have the branding etc on site yet but are working on it.

None of this detracts from the fact that (a) you get a Lambo stamp, (b) they did a good job, (c) it was well priced, and (d), the customer service is spot on.

Just thought it would be worth a recommendation as they are building their customer base and there are enough not-so-happy owners out there that are looking for an alternative that would benefit

I'm not sure that the work will ever be done at the Lambo/ Bentley site, but that is not an issue so long as the equipment and expertise is available. At least Lambo allows this. Ferrari doesn't and, as a result, mine is currently at Colchester where it needs to go for all work, however small.

If you dont mind me asking, what did you pay for your clutch. I have just had a sintered clutch fitted at High wycombe, they charged 3.8k, did Sevenoaks better that?

Yes. I think the servicing will remain where it is, which is fine because they have all the kit they need.

Peter - yes, they were much better priced I'm afraid. It was 2.8k all in (but important to bear in mind that we spoke a great deal beforehand about attracting business and beating prices etc).

That was a good deal, I think I shall pay them a visit next time I need some work doing.

. Good point, the sintered clutch was an upgrade, it was around £300 more than the standard one, But apperently lasts twice as long. I had to ask for it, strangely it was not given as an option when requesting the work.

Bloody confusing these clutches. I believe the D revision is the sintered one, which is a bit more expensive than the E revision, which preceded it (!). I don't believe the D was ever fitted as standard, the C was replaced by the E as factory fit. However, the E is supposed to be very robust itself, mine has now done 12k and is going strong, but i guess it depends how you drive the car.

nb. Do not quote me on any of the above.

I spent quite some time there looking at a black G they hadin last November. They were just starting out then and although they had Lambos in the showroom, there was no branding etc. The service department in early December was also not up and running. Nice guys though, we couldn't do a deal on the G they had (04 plate iirc) as it had some issues - but I would consider using them in the future as I live in South London - although Verdi might be a better bet maybe.....

Re any launch - I think they did this quietly on purpose - as the sales part was up and running a couple of months before servicing so it was a "piece-meal" approach. Perhaps they will have a launch in the spring now that all seems to be up and runningsmile

The launch is planned for later in the year. March or April I think

If you need a clutch at some stage seems its worth asking what
options are available eh.
cheers .

I was told that the sintered clutch's are coated in copper, for harder wearing. I only knew about sintered clutch's from reading about them on PH. I dont think any dealer is going to tell you about them unless you ask. They want your clutch's to fail, more money for them!

We are still working with the factory for the official launch which is proving hard to pin a firm date down due to Mr Winkleman's "busy" diary.

As soon as we have this confirmed 100% we will somehow get this announced in the forum.

In the meantime all the positive comments are very much appreciated and needless to say if you are in the area, you are more than welcome to pop in for a coffee and a chat.
