My Disco 2 has 255x65 r16's at the moment, three differnt brands of crap road tyres
Anyone know what other sizes will fit without bodywork trimming or lifting?
TIA.

You can probably go a bit bigger or chunkier. But there is no single answer.

Do you want wider or taller or both?
Narrow taller tires will often fit with less hassle. But not always.
Then the type of tyre depends. An AT or a road tyre will be quite different to a Mud terrain, even if they are rated at the same size. This is usually due to the lugs. And the lugs are what will normally cause more damage.
Also some tyres seem to vary wildly, so just because the say 'x' size they may be bigger or smaller.
And lastly what are you going to use the vehicle for?
If its 100% road use with only a kerb being the most challenging object then you can get away with bigger tyres as you won't be using all of the suspension travel.
If you are going to be off roading and getting the use of all of the suspension flex and articulation then there's far more chance for the tyres to rub.

Someone will know the answer to this. I'm afraid that I don't on the Disco II. On a Defender, for example, the largest size you can fit without a lift is 255/85/16 or 265/75/16.
But you see that's not exactly true, as a narrow 33" tall tyre will fit and still be usable off road.I've even had my 33.11.50's (about a 290/90) on a Ninety. For road use it'd probably be fine, but would rub off road.

Thanks for your answers chaps but I got some in the end from devon 4x4.

I ordered 4 255/65/R16 AT'2 at the start of Deptember and only received them on Monday! seems that they've been out of stock everywhere since then.
