What did MCN say about them-like why there & what's gonna happen with them?

Basically that it was up to Petronas what happens to them, and they're probably not going to be keen unearthing an expensive mistake like that. Maybe they'll just be quietly auctioned off.

yes, to me and sprinter, we are going to buy the lot and start up a Robby-Sprintonas FP1 race school.

price includes b&b where they use one of Sprinters quality beds and matresses.

Somehow I like the sound of Robby-Sprintonas FP1 cloud9

Not sure I'd let any other 'tards out on one though biggrin:

Anyway- it aint gonna happen-unless the Oooromillions thing is kind to me tomorrow !

The Oooromillions is mine. However, I'll let you put your business case forward in a Dragons Den style.

All that lovely metal just waiting to be played with.

I hope they don't get crushed and go to some good homes.

on a side note, i was speaking to a guy a while back who worked on the FP1 race bikes.

he pointed out that due to petronas being so hell bent on using as much as they could from the asian quarter, they were running some god awful parts, it made me laugh when he said you could map it better with a pc3 than the ecu's they were being made to use.

he reckoned there was around a seconds worth of time at most circuits lost because of sub standard parts.

Lovely bikes though...sounded wonderful too. I lapped up the flames out the exhausts on the over-run in the WSB early seasons, almost worth the effort of the entire operation.
120 odd horses for the road bikes seemed a touch conservative. I would certainly consider them attractive for the collecter.

what as?.... greatest failure alongside the Benelli Tornado race bike?

and the Bimota WSB effort?

frown

surely you need some success to become a collectors piece?

please correct me if I'm wrong

Somebody forgetting the 1 (or was it 2? )podiums for Walker & maybe Corser?
Sweet handling too IIRC. They maybe failed also partly down to the misjudgement on the engine capacity regs which were hiked to 1000cc when they built it to 900 (?)
Let's face it some of the past GP bikes are desirable now as collectors pieces even though they maybe were not winners.

What would you give for McCoy's/McWilliams' Ilmor GP bike if you could get it?

Amazing story. Also makes Foggy look like less of a liar... the bikes were there and good to go, so he was as good as his word.

Oi-you can't mention "swallow" on 'ere without attracting the perv brigade wink

Anyway, as I recall it Y2B- Bimota had minimal success too in WSB yet they're still attractive (ok -I know the difference is they are still actually "made" biggrinsmile
