nissan terrano II.

hi. does anyone know why my nissan terrano II 2.7 slx 1994 will NOT go into 2nd gear when driving from cold. no crunching noises or anything just will not go in. has started recently and does it everytime until i've covered a couple of miles or so. also when start it over it idles badly - really vibrates loads of noise from down near the gearbox . when it warms up a bit it is ok. anyone???????
