190E Mirrors - Why?
Discussion
A similar confusion is the rear fog light. Note I use the word in the singular. If you look you think there should be two but only one is operational. I'm told the rational is that folks behind then know its a fog light and when you hit the brakes they don't have an excuse that they have not observed the brighter brake light, clearly evident on the side which hasn't got the for light.
From memory its the offside which has the fog light.

I'm not 100% which foglight is active, but the space is present in the opposite rear light cluster. From memory its the offside which has the fog light.
This is for the wrong-hand-drive countries
On my current (and previous) W124 Mercedes, I have had my mechanic patch a wire over from the active fog light and a bulb installed, so I've always had two rear fogs
It certainly seems a little daft that they didn't do this to begin with!
