Hello all,

does anyone know anything about this car? I am in the market for something similar although I was aiming for lower mileage. It looks good though:

I had started a thread for advice in general gassing which is here:

Thanks in advance, it was pointed out to me that with the combined experience of people on this forum someone might even know the history of a specific car!

I don't know the specific car you're looking at, but Elms is a very good place to be buying from.

Also (imho) mileage is not a major factor in reliability, buy on condition and history, and the way the car drives.

I'm afraid I don't know anything about that particular car. As already said Elms have a good reputation so at least you know your in good hands there! The only thing about that particular car is that the colour combo isn't the best for resale and also the mileage is pretty high. To be honest it doesn't really matter though it just means when you come to sell it, it'll take a bit longer to move on!

Oh and notice that car is a manual rather than an F1... Very good choice biggrindriving

Elms is reputable dealer.
Mileage is fine IMHO. Don't listen to "don't touch anything above 29,950 miles" stories...
These cars are getting 6-10 years old now, so 35k means just above 4k miles per annum...peanuts.
I would rather buy 40k miles car with proper history than 5k garage queen. I mean if your intention is to drive it wink
Buy on condition. Make sure there are no gaps in the service history, F360s need to be serviced annually despite the mileage (even you driven 10 miles per annum just service it)
Also, for this particular car the colour combo is the killer. Silver 360s don't look nice IMHO, worse colour. Resale would be a problem unless you buy very cheap & sell cheap. This car is priced accordingly IMHO, 42k is cheap for spider nowdays but TBH I still wouldn't touch it.
I know that a lot of dealers wouldn't touch 360 unless it is red...guess why.
Buy red one if you can get hold of nice one within your budget, ideally with tan or creama leather.

Have you seen this one? It's a bit more money but it's in "resale red"

Thanks for your input guys. I was going for the silver because I actually like that colour best. THe only colours I wouldn't be interested in are black and yellow. Or anything with that blue leather interior! Although I agree, tan or Crema interior would be nicer.

If Elms are a reputable dealer, I suppose I can be assured that their 'comprehensive 12 months warranty' is indeed comprehensive?

('ve sent them an email and will hopefully get a chance to go and see it this weekend..

If you do go for the silver one, I imagine this would be comforting reading thumbup

That was one of the cars I was looking at back in Nov - I didn't go and see it though as I decided I wanted either Red or Black.

I eventually bought a Rosso/Crema Modena, with 33k (now has 34.5k) runs fine, starts on the button and is solid as a rock - it was very well looked after by the previous owner!

Modern cars will handle LOTS of miles (even if there is a stigma attached to high miles cars). Engines are tested to well over 100k miles (Jag designed & tested engines to 200-250k miles back in 2001 when I worked there in Power Train). Yes be sensible, but 35, or 45 or even 55k miles on any modern cars won't be an issue (if looked after and serviced properly), but will affect value accordingly, so pay the right price.

Go and have a look - you'll soon know and if there are any doubts at all (or just for peace of mind,) get an inspection done.

+ You might get a decent deal on that car if it's hung around a while too. yes

Good luck
