Hi, does anyone have any experiences of the Panasonic GF1 camera ? All the reviews rate it highly because of it's size and the ability to produce cracking photos and quite good HD video.
Anyone got one and which lens or lenses did you go for?

Yeah, I've got one and I love it smile

DEFINITELY get the 20mm kit. The Pancake lens is a piece of art in its own right. I have the 14-45mm too but never use it.

Excellent bit of kit. Im only a casual snapper but it makes the best of the opportunities I give it. The handling is spot on and with the 20mm its not a great deal larger than my wifes Canon G10 so will slot in a jacket pocket at a pinch.

I went for the 20mm kit as I already had 14-42mm on another camera that fits. To be honest while the 20mm lense is lovely I think If I only had that Id find it a bit limiting.

That's the issue I'm strugling with. Lack of bulk is a relief for the spontaneous moments but for that shot where you see it in your eyes but can't reproduce it in the view finder(or live screen) then one needs that telephoto lens to work for you.

THe 14-42 lense I use is from an Olympus E-P1 kit and is quite a lot smaller than the standard 14-45 Lumix one. Its maybe twice the depth of the 20mm but still sort of pocketable in a coat or jacket.

Have you thought of the Olympus E-PL1 ? Its a similar size to the GF1 and seems to have similar features, new out though so I dont know much about it. Might be worth a look. http://www.dpreview.com/previews/olympusepl1/

As others have said - the GF1 is great. I've had mine a few months now and am really enjoying it.

I've no experience of the camera, but I love those shots of yours, Andy!
