For those of you who track your RS's, you may find that the discs don't hold up to much abuse - severe cracking after a few track days.

So, I have contacted AP and they have said that they will make a bespoke floating bell, which you fit standard AP GROOVED discs to. The cost for each bell is likely to be around £130. But from then on you need only to buy the standard AP grooved discs.

The grooved disc is far less prone to cracking, and also with the use of a floating bell/disc assembly, almost no likelihood of warping!

I have spoken to Colin (9M) whose is interested and is going to spec them up. Just need to send them a standard disc (although Colin believes we may be able to go slightly larger) and pad, so they have the sizing.

Anybody else out there interested??

and the price of the discs? Sounds interesting, as I'm thinking of moving to RS calipers on the front of my 964C2...

I'm interested, fed up with watching the cracks grow bigger each track day!

Any idea of the likely cost of the AP Discs?

Disc price approx £160 - £190. The discs will last considerably longer!!

At that price they'd have to last twice as long, and then some more to recoup the cost of the bells, and I've heard that slotted disks have a habit of eating pads...

Are you _sure_ you've thought this through?

Annual - you clearly aren't driving hard enough

I know AP's work, had them on EVO (considerably heavier) which ate standard discs - put the AP's on and then it moved to annual!

SO YES I HAVE THOUGHT IT THROUGH!!

For you it probably doesn't make sense. But for me and many others who go through discs in a matter of a few track days it does!

Why not try greasing your pads, that will reduce the friction and wear considerably. Thus saving a lot of money on discs.
I am actualy at the moment having some solid discs made using the old bells from the 993 turbo. This is to fit 993rs &turbo/gt2 and cup.
Will let you know how i get on.
I can get through a front set of discs in one test day plus a race at donington.

Just remove the discs entirely. It helps unsprung weight as well.
