Afternoon All,

Just wanted to introduce myself. I stumbled across this forum the last time it snowed here at work and have been hooked ever since. Not a massive car fan. I have an old Mondeo which is sat on my driveway having not being used in years. I do however have a healthy/unhealthy new obsession for watches. Currently own 2 Tag's one Carerra, black face on a leather strap and a Hybrid Aquaracer Calibre S on a steel strap. I brought the Carerra as a birthday present for myself for being a good boy and then the next year the Aquaracer as something to be worn every day and to replace the Carrera. I planned to stop there honstly I did but it hasn't happend. I also have a Breil my missus brought me and a Abacus which was an impulse buy as it synched with my at the time Sony Mobile. Being as I've upgraded my phone about 3 times since then its now a heavy watch that sits in a drawer and requires a charge by USB cable before being worn. There is an old G Shock somewhere in the house. Probably in a box in the loft I'd imagine.

Since being on this site I have now become to feel mildly inadequate with my purchases and am now looking at an original Heuer.

The missus is not impressed with you guys. She leaned over my shoulder the other day and told me to ''stop looking at that site you're not getting any more watches''. Don't worry though I'll show her who wears the pants redface)

Lastly. My parents are under the impression I'm more sensible with my money so if you'd be kind and keep this as our little secret it would be much appreciated. The old folks bless them hit the roof when they found out how much my G Shock cost. I don't want to be the one that causes them a heart attack when I tell them how much the Tag's costs redface(

But jokes aside. I've been searching through the posts and found some interesting stories and ideas for new purchases. It's only right I now introduce myself.

Miguel Alvarez.

Welcome, pictures are always welcome (especially of the G Shock, that's my latest craze) !

You have to mentally tot up the amount the other half spends on glossy magazines / haircuts / shoes / car crashes and you can easily justify most watch purchases. In theory.

Interesting theory. I'll give that a try and let you know what she says. Someone at work suggested spending my next ''watch fund'' money on an enagement ring. I laughed. We have some jokers here in the office.

Yeah, I moved to Norway. We just had a baby, and she told me it was customary to be given a diamond ring upon finding out about the pregnancy. Only after walking out of the jewellers with my pants around my ankles did I found out this 'custom' was a complete myth.

Keeping it watch related, I bought *another* G Shock, and to dampen the fireworks from her when it landed I spent a tenner plus change on this for her :

She wears it more than the diamond ring. I give up.
