Isn't there somebody on another thread arguing that 'big oil' - and you'd think there would be another fake bogeyman invented by now - is big cheese compared to the (total) hundreds of millions in green taxes collected each year by developed countries, and now there's the 4 trillion euros we find slushing about in green markets. Not to mention the estimated $200bn cost of the utterly pointless posturing of the Kyoto WasteOfTimeOcol. It looks like true believers need lessons in orders of magnitude as well as causality. Millions, billions, trillions, all wasted on junkscience and a bankrupt ideology determined to secure financial bankruptcy as well.

Well, that explains the BBC position a little at least. As we all say, follow the money.

Personally, I like how these people all ignore that BigOil themselves are actually investing in these companies as well.

yes

Also the Climategate e-mails that show the conspirators getting cosy with oil companies and industrialists, lots of opportunities for influence and probably expecting research commissions and grants - can't remember if there were specific mentions of these.

It should have been perfectly clear that this was the case when Enron starting talking the whole Carbon Trade up smile

If Enron being involved isn't a sign of a fix-up then I don't know what is.

Ah, you see, that's because it's Good Oil when the money is being spent on AGW but Bad Oil when being spent on anything else.
