It better include the gearbox and all the wiring gubbins though. frown

I think it's a lightweight unit isn't it ?

How to rip the back end of your car out... eek

Can it not be mated to the LT77?

Shouldn't take the pcensorediss really out of the old man. I once owned a TR7 but at least it had a V8 conversion smile

TR7...no comment. wink

JR...can't see the sort of LT77 box I could afford taking the power.

For a transplant I'd always go with the matching box/clutch,etc.

A stronger gearbox would be nice but from your earlier comment I thought that you had budgetary concerns. Although Steve Heath is now running 600bhp+ he did use the standard box for a long time; IIRC 8 years and up to about 400bhp. If you wanted to spread the cost ...

Yes, I was thinking about Steve's car, but I believe he strengthened parts of the chassis and had to uprate the driveshafts/ujs, which seems reasonable.

I wonder how much the the 400 joints can cope with ? They do seem to have a good reputation.

I'd want to use it for drag racing, so the rear end (and gearbox/clutch) would take some stick.

The alternative would be a big yank motor, for which there is also plenty of tuning possibilities ....just thought a matching TVR engine would be nice, and a bit different to the usual powerplants. smile
