Cerbera 2nd Hand Prices - are they seasonal?
Discussion
I have been looking, and will be looking, for a Cerbera for quite a while. At the end of last summer prices seemed slightly high for what I was looking at (around £23-25k). Now prices for the same age, mileage cars etc seem ALOT cheaper, maybe £3k in some cases.
Are Cerberas really this seasonal, i.e. higher prices in Summer, lower in Winter, or is it just me reading it wrong?
If so....when will the prices go up again, or has there just been a drop in the market !?
Thanks all
Tony

Hi Tony
Do you have certain things you are looking for in the car?
4.2, 4.5, speed 6 - colour, age, budget etc
I totally recommend you contact James Agger Autosport
and give him those details and I'm sure he will find
you that car and supply it with warranty, history and MOT.
I've just done this, even though he managed to get me
to change my mind on the colour!
Good luck

PDavison....you raise a good point - wait for the perfect car, not the time of year.
To be honest, I have always been very picky when buying cars. I investigate them for a long time, and I find that bit is half the fun!!
As for spec.....well, my budget is around £23k. I'm 23yrs old, so insurance has to be considered - I'll be looking at around 2 - 2.5k.
I will be unable to buy definately before May, as my current insurance company won't touch me on a Cerb, and that's when the policy runs out (don't want to lose a yrs NCB).
I'm (wishing) for a 98+, 4.5 Cerb. I say '98 because of the slight modifications that occured on the model at that point, however I see some pre-'98 that have had all the post '98 mods done, so that would be fine. Ideally the headlight conversion (though I am warey - I've seen some that have "sunk" in the pod, and looked wonderful when done but have perhaps withered over time. 18" Spiders are a must for me. Colour I don't have a specific choice with. Many Cerbs I have seen and fallen in love with the colour - so I think it's just a "if I see one I like, I'll have it" with the Cerb colour. Though there is a dark(ish) metalilc grey which I think looks STUNNING. Seen VERY feww of them though. Mileage should be low but not ridiculous.....20k maybe. I say this because I've seen garage queens run worse than 80k mile well-looked-after examples.
So, to re-cap...
£23k
'98 +
4.5
Low(ish) mileage
Colour not specific (though dark metallic grey preferable)
18" Spiders
Headlight conversion (that's wish list...bonus but not deal breaker).
and all the other stuff that should be a must.....FSH, sound chassis, preferably a "known" car etc. etc.
Hope I haven't bored you all. Thanks for the link - I will not be in a position to buy for a while, so I won't start bugging too many people with my questions - though, as I said above, I will probably take a very long time to learn about them, and choose the right one.
Thanks all for your comments.....very much appreciated.

Here
This one in Autotrader looks PERFECT for me, though they don't mention the mileage. However, as I mentioned, I won't be in a position to buy for a while
EDIT: Just seen the car in that URL on your site, GCerb.....53k miles.

That's a very well known car on Pistonheads.
Used to belong to Greg ( aka Buster ) but he sold it last summer.
Not sure why it's back up for sale so soon, but you can
find a lot of history and I'm sure Greg would also oblige,
but as you say, your not looking just yet.
Funny thing is - this time last year I started looking
with a view to buying in 2004, even had the name
Cerbera2004 when I joined PH, and here we are only
in February and I have my second Cerbera!

Yes he did that to me too - went in looking for Yellow and came out with Lotus Aluminium Silver and in hindsight reckon that was def.the right advice - although still have a hankering one day for something in an outrageous yellow. Bottom line is he provides a good service, he knows what he is talking about and will make sure you wait until he has the right vehicle for you plus good after sales back up.

oi! don't start saying that!!
I've been toying with the idea of buying in time for Eurohoon...but don't want to rush myself (ok, I realise it's 8months away!). Besides, it's all booked now that I'm going with Adam (thanks Adam...that's saved me!)
You are completely right though....the glorious driving will make me wimper at my (current) lack of impressive machinery. (at the moment my garage has only a Lexus IS200....great car, but not a Cerbera!)
