Hello all,

I have abandoned my skis and taken to snowboarding. I am going to hire a board when I go to France in a few weeks and want to buy my own boots. Can anyone advise me which ones I should be looking at?

Thanks,

Ed.

I'm a total noob, but I bought these :

Vans with a Boa lace. I use them around once a fortnight, I can walk in them to and from the slope and adjust them with my gloves on whilst they are covered up under the bottom of my pants.

Am going to snow and rock today to try a few pairs on. Hopefully they will have a few left in the Bromborough store.

I have a pair of Thirty Twos. Very comfy and look like big trainers.

Yep, these are the boot equivalent to Flow Bindings, easy peasy lemon squeezy, when you have lost all feeling in your fingers, they loosen or tighten with a quick finger flick smile
Was worried about the wires snapping, but 4 years later, the spare wire is still in the bag.

Good choice, I admire the speed skiiers can achieve, but snowboarding is laid back, no rush, the ability to learn new tricks on any surface, cooler to watch and much more fun.

Why did you decide to switch?

I went for a decent pair of Solomans, simply because they were the most comfortable.
