Hi Guys
Got issue with my X5 M SPORT 2009 MY. Basically steering pulls to one side at low speed also some times it jerks eratically then its ok. Difficult to explain really. Usually happens only at <30mph.

Have taken it to BMW who did aligment check which showed 2 front tyres were slighly off therefore corrected, tyre pressue is also been checked and is ok.

I have had aston martins, range rover sports and never experienced such a thing. According to the technician who test drove it said its a common thing for the steering wheel to jerk when it hits small pot hole or the centre line of the road for BMW's.................havent got loads of experience in driving but i have never heard this or experienced this before. Have only had the car 3 months.

Any help welcome

Thanks

I dont recall it happening to my e70 x5 3.0d and it was running dynamic pack and 20's.

Could just be the dreaded run-flat tyres. I recently handed back a X5 3.0d SE (Dynamic pack so sport suspension but only the 19" wheels). Ride was fairly good but still slightly prone to tramlining- I did test drive an demo on 20" wheels and found the ride much more crashy.

No probs. I mention mine, because the dynamic pack gave it the M Sport suspension, and it had the 20's common to the M Sport. I dont remember it having runflats though?

I'd no real issues with the suspension - it was certainly quite firm, but not uncomfortably so.

My Z4 does it until the tyres warm up. Run flats. Obviously, your issue may be something else entirely.

they are run flats with 20 alloys. Gonna have a drive in it at the weekend to see whether it has gone worser. Its not my main car so dont drive it much.
