Goig over to Calais for a day trip with the kids. Got the Sea life centre in as something to do for half the day but need something else for the other half.

Does anyone have any suggestions for something to do that within about an hours drive from the tunnel??

Drive to Boulogne, about 30mins down the A16. It's a lovely town, more interesting than Calais and some great restaurants.

What he said - go to the huge aquarium in Boulogne - NAUSICAA - go for a walk on the beach next to it, eat in La Matelote nearby or Le Welsh Pub Brasserie, walk up to the Old Town on the hill; take the scenic old coastal road D940 back to Calais, stop at Cap Gris Nez to see if you can see Dover, stop in Wissant from where Caesar invaded Britain and arrive back in Calais just long enough to get the boat back.

£15 day return with Eurotunnel per-chance?

The Sealife centre is in Boulogne, the aformentioned Nausicaa which is 30mins from the tunnel on the autoroute, it'll take you most of the morning to go around that one, lots of places to eat as was mentioned before the old town is the place to go, if you take the coast road back from Boulogne (D27 IIRC) there are some nice towns and views and a couple of war musuems on the way back.

HTH.
