Guys

I havent done a track day before but I want to do one soon in my 350z, can anyone recommend a track in my area prefereably (South west) and a company to book with?. I ideally would prefer a track which has plenty of run off rather than barriers as I have to drive the car home :-)

thanks
James

I'd recommend a day with Motor Sport Events, Hullavington or Colerne would be my suggestion. Make sure they know it's your first day and book at hour with an instructor (3x20 min sessions) and you'll love it.

Sounds great, do you know how much extra the tuition would be as this page on their website isnt available.

thanks

I've only done one MSE event and the tuition was effectively included. I had a few issues so asked one of the pros for advice and he went out with me for a few laps. Definitely recommended.

Those are Airfield days, so run off is good.

In the SW we only have Castle Combe and Llandow or Pembrey??? (wales)
The run off at those is bad ie close, so an airfield day is a better start.

Look further afield though, Brands, Goodwood (not good for run-off) Thruxton may not be more than a couple of hours away and a circuit day is more special.

One last thing, a top circuit (silverstone/Brands/Donington) have big run off and high grip tarmac.
Silverstone is the safest circuit in the country for car and driver. I've seen a 911 totalled on an airfield...its just harder to do. Also stone chip damage and tyre wear are much greater on Airfields.

Have fun, and definately do it. A 350Z is best on track.

MSE are the best in the country for Airfields and the do Combe/Llandow too.

Be careful if you go to Castle Combe, as it's a very fast track with VERY little run off.
