How west are you? Is York too far away? Atlas Autos in Sherriff Hutton (norh of York) are highly rated.

Nidd Vale nr Weatherby offer a good service

Malton BMW on the A64 are excellent but maybe too far east / north

Impact Motors near Otley LS21 1LH, are very good.

MT Specialist Cars in Castleford are German Marque specialists

Timescale BMW is Selby are good specialists too.

West View Garage in Halifax may be worth phoning.

Roger Clarke Motorsport Engineers in Ripon may be too far north / east but are amazing.

I used to use Andy at Atlas Autos. He is an ex BM guy with his own outfit. His website is http://www.atlasautoservices.co.uk/ which, granted is a bit cack, however the workmanship is really good and personally I always enjoyed the ride there and back. It is very much off the beaten track but he does look after your car. Miles cheaper than any "recognised" BM garage too. He always had either an e39 M5 or e36 M3 there (I think he has a family member who races them). Could do worse than giving him a call. You just shoot up the a64 for a few miles and turn left eventually.

I have used MT specialists in Castleford for all my BMW work. Mick is a top bloke and knows his stuff.
