Record Speeding Fine
Finn hit with £115,000 speeding ticket
Speeding in Finland can be an expensive business. With fines geared to earnings it gives scope for some very large penalities to be imposed.
In 2002 Nokia President Pekka Ala-Pietila was hit with a fine of £23,000 for running a red light and before that another Finnish millionare was fined £50,000 for speeding.
Now, Jussi Salonoja, a 27 year old millionaire (in the sausage business... mmm... time for lunch yet) has been caught doing 50mph in a 25mph zone. He's been fined £115,000!
Salonoja will appear in court soon to contest it!
