Removing a private plate from a donor!??

Private plates on donors....

Bit of a strange one... my donor has a private plate on it, you can't remove the plate without an MOT unless you're scrapping it, however because i'm using it as a donor when the time comes to register the car will I be able to keep the plate/transfer it then?

Or does anyone else know how I can get it off sooner?

As I understand it you can't use the donor car plate on the kit-car.
However, I'm sure that on this forum someone seemed very sure that the MOT issue CAN be waived under certain circumstances.

I'm aware of that.... I know i'll get a new age related number..... however I'd like to put the number onto retention to use at a later date.

The only person who can answer this for sure is sitting the other side of your nearest DVLA office counter.
In your case there is no point just sending the papers to Swansea as it will likely get rejected. Sitting at the counter and having a discussion is your best bet.
