I have had a 120d (177 bhp) for a couple of weeks now. I have noticed that the car will go without my foot on the accelerator, it will even drive up the hill where I live in 2nd gear without my foot on the gas. Also if I have slowed down to say 5mph and then take my foot off the clutch it will lurch forward. I have heard that this might be normal but it dosen't seem right to me.

Any thoughts before I contact the dealer.

That's normal. My 120d used to be like that. Say you change into second a bit early, then take your foot off the gas, it picks up a bit of speed until it's happy. I used to drive a manual diesel S-type from time to time and it did the same thing. Nothing to worry about.

Thanks for the reply. I was talking to a guy who has an x3 2.0d and its the same. Not very good really, I don't recall my Golf GT diesel doing it, but maybe thats just my memory.

This is normal for the majority of diesels, nothing to worry about.
