Faulty Lights

Hi Guys
Has anyone had any trouble with lights not working as well as the indicators ?
This is the last puzzle to solve on my rebuild. It would appear that the light relay is not getting power as if I hold the relay together, the lights work. Difficult to pinpoint without a wiring diagram. Figured the indicators could be linked, with the hazard switch being part of the light switch.
Has anyone experienced a faulty switch before ??
Any help or advice would be appreciated

Have you checked the ribbon cable is connected to the back of the rotary light switch? I had my pod out just recently and found the cable had unplugged itself.

Yeh, all checked i`m afraid.
Do you know where the light control box is supposed to reside. I didn`t realise they were supposed to have one. Got a feeling mine may be missing as I haven`t come across one. I have been told there are some boxes/relays behind the centre console ?? Is this true ??

Not sure where it hides. DS footwell by the welly pedal maybe behind the removeable panel or above the ECU?. The box under the center consol is for the mirrors

I think the newer TVR's as you said use a lighting control unit (for the lights, fog light & hazards?). I would have a punt on the other end of the ribbon cable that connects to the switch. I am sure the ribbon cables connect to something behind where the clocks sit. I did not pay much attention to where the cables went other than a quick glance when the dials were out.

The other end of the ribbon goes into a circuit board which in turn goes into a 32 pin plug into the loom. All connections are ok. Sounds like this light control unit as the lights, fogs and hazards are not working. Neither are the indicators but this could be linked to the hazards. This is the last goddamn thing to sort for the MOT and is doing my head in
Hope someone can come on and tell me where it is. Every other control box has been knackered so it`s probably the same !!

Hi Targarama

I now have both windows working off the switch and if I disconnect the battery or the control boxes, the windows lower on the first press of the door release. They then don`t work again, so It`s probably that they can`t work out where they are. I have been told to look in the bottom of the rear wings as there is a block connector that connects the micro switches to the loom, that is susceptible to water ingress. So that`s where I am at the moment. I really need to sort the lighjts though so I can at least get it through the MOT and drive the damn thing !
The suspense is killing me !
