Help,Is there a wi-fi transmitting landline handset
Discussion
friend of mine has a 12 room 4 storey guest house and wants to supply in room wi-fi, we discussed the easiest way would incorporate this in the phone rather than wiring up the building but can't seem to find a landline/phone modem router combined, is there such a thing made ?

I don't understand your suggestion of incorporating wifi with landline phone - do you mean to share the existing phone wiring round the property? If you don't want to re-wire, then there are radio extenders available to extend the range of a wifi network. These are free standing radio repeaters. You would need to cable connect to each one to set it up, but once done, each one will operate on its own. Prices are about £50 each. Google for wifi extender.

Why not just put a wireless repeater on each floor connecting back to a main wireless router via WIFI? All you would need is power to each repeater.Edited by sussexjob on Monday 15th February 02:16

If I am understanding your theory, you wish to have WiFi ADSL Modems built into each room landline...?
This will not work as your ISP via the DSLAM will not be expecting multiple ADSL sessions.
However, as already pointed out, a decent WiFi ADSL Modem should provide coverage, and if not a repeater should suffice.
If cabling is an issue, you may want to look at Ethernet over the Ring Main. A possible solution would be...
ADSL Modem connected to BT Line Socket (usually on the ground floor)
Use a wired Ethernet port on this to connected into an Ethernet over Ring Main Tx/Rx (plugged into the mains)
On say the 2nd floor, connect another Ethernet over Ring Main Tx/Rx to a WiFi Access Point.
This may give you the coverage you require with minimal cabling disruption.
