Pub Question. Can someone advise if the two sensors buried in the road used for measuring speed at the site of a Truvelo camera work in reverse. This could arise if someone was stupid enough avoid the sensors on the correct side of the road and attempted to drive in a slalom through the two sensors on each side of the road, but failed. If they went over the opposite carriageway's two sensors, would the opposite carriageway Truvelo detect and record this speed as the car travelled away from the camera, as opposed to travelling towards it ?

There always seems to be a gap big enough to drive between the middle of the two sensor sets. Never measured it but it seems large enough, in theory of course.

I think its inductive loop but how does this work???

Just go on truvelouk.com and all is explained. They work on piezo-electric pressure sensitive sensors, just like you get at Traffic lights to detect that you are there. Not that complicated at all. If you go over the two sensors within a certain time frame, this detects your speed which is confirmed by the three white lines 1.8 metres in front of the sensors which is the secondary speed photographic check.
