new S owner

Hi everyone, just thought I'd stop by and introduce myself as I recently bought an S3 as a project. The plan was to just do what needed doing to get it back on the road, but one thing led to another and now I'm just about to take the body off and send the chassis away to be sandblasted. The chassis was in much better condition than I thought so it seemed a good idea to make sure it stayed that way! I've found this forum a lot of help so far (every question I've had so far I've been able to find an answer to), and if anyone's interested I'll keep you up to date on how it's going.

Hi and welcome. We're always interested to hear about progress etc.

It's good that you have less problems than you thought but it sounds a great idea to protect the chassis now

I have just purchased my first S3 trying to get it on the road for this summer and do the body off in the winter.
definately interested in your progress (might learn a thing or two)

I'm not sure who was the most dangerous, Adam S3 with his hammer, or yourself driving me around the lanes in your V8S

It was nice taking someone 'new' out, shame we never got above about 30 mph

Don't forget the PPC open day at Melton in March too, there were 66 there last year. I notice you have a nice bike too

Yes, 30mph in under 2 seconds, my internal organs will never be in their correct location again.
I'm too old really to do the bike justice, It's no match for the V8S either.
Now, which one shall I sample next

haha, not to worry - I'm a bit concerned by the possibilities of turning up at a car meet with a hammer but no car... probably best not to ask!

I'm going to keep a blog of how I'm getting on so I'll let you know when it's up.
