London Shepherds Bush - bars/dining help!
Discussion
Hoping that someone here on PH can make a few recommends....my wife and I have the dubious privilege of escorting my daughter and her pals to a gig at the o2 Shepherds Bush this coming Sunday. Don't know the area at all and myself and Mrs G will have a few hours to kill. Putting aside the 'get room' type comments, can anyone pls suggest any decent bars, or places to eat in the area. Not really looking for fine dining, just good middle of the road ( in case Mr Chipmunk or whatever he's called isn't as good live and we end up having to go back earlier than expected). So: Music bars, mid road restaurants ....advise / suggestions welcomed! Thx Mark.
King Street Hammersmith.
Especially La Piccola, which is a truly excellent, simple, rustic Italian which is very reasonable in terms of prices, and the chef prepares everything in front of you in his open kitchen.
Nothing you couldn't rustle up at home, but authentic, tasty, and cheap!
About 10-15 mins from Shepherds Bush.

Ah! The bush!
If you havn't been to the Bush before, it can be quite an, erm, cosmopolitan place. Sunday night? probably not the best night unless you want to discover what aussies/south Africans are like after after a few beers. However, Westfield is good and safe (although extraordinarally expensive to eat in)but drive 5 minutes away to Chiswick and the world is your oyster!.......for pubby stuff, The Roebuck on the High Road will never dissapoint, the High Road House (not cheap but good value...Ant and Decs place) or Annies by the River...or if you like your meat, Le Vacheron for the BEST chateaux briande you will ever taste!(bit formal though) too many to list really.Fishy stuff, Fish Hoek. only real problem you will find is parking-very few restrictions on a sunday therefore the buggers are everywhere!. PM me if you need a parking spot in Chiswick & I will be happy to sort you out.
