Popped into my Supermarket today, just needed a few bits for tonights Curry, which include a tomato.

No loose tomatoes on the display in the empty box,I politely ask the chap in the fruit dept if there are any more and he tells me not until tomorrow.

Just above the the box where the loose ones are kept, i saw a tray of individually priced tomatoes, each has a price ticket stating 54p and a bar code. Now it was a tad larger than the normal loose ones they stock but still a tomato non the less.

In a fit of evil cunning i peeled off the sticker and lobbed it in a clear bag.smokin

Price when weighed on checkout 23p !yikes

I have said my Hail Marys angel

It's a classic anecdote. I shall be dining out on that one. Do you have any more?

I saw someone do this the other day. No loose onions so they opened a bag, picked a few out, weighed and paid for them.

Do not past go. Go directly to Lidl. Do not collect £200. Instead collect an Asbo. Pikey.

Reminds me of this;-

A burglar in a house one night. Just about to take the TV, he hears a voice.
‘Jesus is watching you.’
Looks around, sees no-one.
Carries on selecting another gem.
‘Jesus’ is watching you.’
He spots a parrot in the corner.
‘Was that you?’ He asks.
‘Yes said the parrot, Jesus is watching you.’
‘What are you called parrot.’
‘Mosses’ the parrot replies.
‘Mosses, what sort of a stupid owner calls a parrot Moses.’ he laughs.
‘The same sort of stupid owner that calls a Rottweiler Jesus. The parrot smirks.

p.s. enjoy the tomato.

When you get to Hell you'll meet the person that charged 54p for a tomato...

I work in a solicitors and we had a client who was charged with fraud.

What they had done was change the
pricing labels on the clothes around so clothes that shouldn't have been on offer were. They took them too the checkout and got caught.

Not saying what you did was of the same significance. It always annoys when supermarket don't have many loose veg items. Not all of us want 8 tomatoes and 10 potatoes! I many have done the same (actually I most probably would think about it for 5 mins, sweat a bit and then just buy a pack....)

Mad isn't it - I bought 3 onions the other day (loose) for about 34p. In the crate next to them were little mesh "socks" containing 3 onions for apound. No bigger.. no nicer looking.. just more expensive!

Careful though; being poor has taught me that Waitrose packed mixed peppers are actually cheaper than the loose.
