Ok, now does this go in scale models? (It's not a scale model), or trains, planes, and floaty things> Feck knows... However...

Anybody who doubts the pace of battery/motor technology development should watch that clip - that kind of performance would have been inconceivable only a few years ago. When I was growing up the only type of electric R/C aircraft were large motor gliders, nothing else could carry the batteries.

How does he stop becoming disorientated when flying that thing? Or is the control system such that it doesn't matter which way it is pointing?

I suspect he is a pretty good pilot although the flying is fairly simple compared to 3D heli stuff.

Its controled with three gyroscopes and a computer brain to keep it all under control.

Watch the link below for a more impressive demonstration battery performance and flying skills.. how he can keep orientation is beyond me.. Although I can do some basic 3D stuff (flying upside down) the pros take it to another level.
