2010 Nurnberg Ring 24hrs
Discussion
Last year small group of us wanted a change from the LM24hrs and went instead to the Ring24hrs. We were very surprised how few Brits seemed to have made the trip. I wouldn't mind looking to see who is thinking about going this year. This year we leave the UK on May 13 and return on Monday 17th. Who else?
A group of us went last year and had a great time as a change from LM.

Lots of Germans, obviously, but all very friendly, can sit where you like in the grandstands, the classic cars were fantastic. Those M1's sound amazing at full chat, stayed up late into the night seeing the cars come down into Breidschied bridge (sp?) and on the Sunday we went into the woods to see other parts of the track and veiwing locations. We had fantastic weather which helped and then drank far too much Eiffel fire
This year should be good as Walter Röhrl will be running in a Porsche RSR.

we have around 10-12 of us going down this year in 4 cars. some newbies and some old hands of the last 5 years running. Awesome spectacle and very different from LM. We are crossing early Thursday and returning mid afternoon Monday using the tunnel. Happy to meet on route for a convoy if anyone fancies it. We're camping at mullenbach as I gave up years ago on the local hotels. Even if you get there first, they will often not commit to rooms until their regular visitors confirm/deny their presence.
We have a group of 11 going in seven cars to N24 and it our first trip, done LM several times but this year fancied something different.
I am looking for help and information about the area and what’s going on away for the track, ie places to drink things to do. We have a hotel booked, are the track tickets easy to get hold of or do we needs these before we arrive ? what are the best web sites to visit for race info ?

Pistenklause restaurant in Nurburg - fab Argentinian steak on a hot stone. Worth killing for. I really must stop telling people about it as it is getting harder to get a table at the big events at the Ring!!I suggest going late afternoon rather than later in the day. No problem getting tiokets on the day as it is hard for them to get to 'capacity' on a 12 mile circuit....
Enjoy (I know you will!!).
