Last shuttle launch

Just had a price for orlando for 14th september ( £739 for 2 weeks fly with virgin and 2 weeks on international drive)in order to try and catch the last every space shuttle launch.

can you see the shuttle launch from orlando or will i need to try and get closer to cape carvival.

Orlando is a fair distance from the launch site, would suggest getting yourself onto the east coast somewhere for the best view or have a look for a thread that was running a few days ago about florida and shuttle launch, this had plenty of suggestions

You can see the shuttle from Orlando but it's something of a dot in the distance.

You're best off trying to get closer to Canaveral but it's rammed on launch day and, I would imagine, it'll be positively shoulder-to-shoulder for the last ever launch....

That's if it goes when it's supposed to aswell....If I were you I'd aim to fly out the day before the launch is scheduled in case it's delayed....

I am heading over for one of the launches this year (June I think) and plan to be as close as possible. You can register to get tickets to view from close to the launch site from NASA.

cheers for that, I have been orlando a few times before and done the full tour around cape carnival just never seen a launch so might as well catch the last one, I will try and get closer somehow, did not want a hire car for the complete 2 week so might try and get a hire car or motorbike for 1 day, flying only a 2 days before expected launch should get me some extra days grace just in case of delays.
