31mpg out of my Impreza STi
Discussion
Bumbling about with the doris' at 67 on the motorway for 330 miles has yielded a tasty 31mpg! Actually quite chuffed, and I'm only (at the latest) 10 minutes later on a 150 mile trip than I otherwise would have been. And that figure even includes a quick zoom on an empty motorway and, ah, embarassing two chavmobiles (who were so busy getting ready to race each other they didn't notice me) away from a set of lights.
How about you folks - what's your best mpg out of your cars?

Managed to get ~31mpg and 400 miles out of a single tank (well, 60 litres, 8 still left in the tank) out of the ST205 while driving to Devon and back. Stayed off boost for pretty much the whole time, so the journey was as dull as dishwater, but I wanted to prove to myself that I could get to Devon and back without filling up

I once managed that in my e46 BMW M3 with 343 BHP, so I can well believe it.
I never found my Subarus very good on fuel with my driving style, the M3 was better than both my 1999 and 2001 models driven by me over the same routes.
I never bought them for their fuel econemey as they are probably the worst available.
Still fun though, but fuel economy is just not a good point no matter how they are driven by me.

Probably one of the most mundane things you can do with an Impreza (or an M3 or any performance car). It's like trying to use a bottle of whisky as engine coolant.
Still, nice to know I can save a few pennies when I need to. Doing a 150 mile trip twice a week leaves enjoyment as desperately lacking. Great fun annoying chavs though! COZ YEH BLADD MY 1.2 MODAFIED FEZZY CAN KEEPP UP WID DAT SCOOBARU LOL

I got 30mpg out of the Leggy Spec B on a motorway schlep from Folkstone - Northampton last week.
I had two kids in the back and the wife next to me so I was driving like a nun.
I was so amazed at getting 30mpg I took a photo of it!

I just about make get twenty quid do 90 ish miles that's on my way to work the problem is keeping off the boost when the roads are quiet at 5am in the morning.
I did the 138 mile trip to Brands hatch on 30 quid but not got a trip comp for the coversion into milage and that was in imported wagon WRX

^ That is amazing.
Whilst bored on the motorway I've had a go at hypermiling and dead on 70mpg in 6th it will only do 33. I saw 35 once in a 5 mile stretch of 50mph average speed scameras but nothing like 37.
I was surprised too! IIRC that was averaged over half a tank, all open road 60-65mph cruising but still with a bit of overtaking. Same sort of driving that'll get 33 in the GTB pretty easily.Whilst bored on the motorway I've had a go at hypermiling and dead on 70mpg in 6th it will only do 33. You cant put much faith in the what the on board computer tells you though they are almost always mis-reading.
The only way is to to do a fill to fill comparison ie how much fuel have I put in vs how many miles covered but even thats only around 5-10% inaccurate due to speedometer inaccuracy

In my old UK Classic Wagon which ran around 250bhp I once reached 37mpg over a 400 mile motorway trip sitting between 60 and 65mph all the way. Strangely enough I quite enjoyed it too, very relaxing to simply accept getting nowhere quickly and relax in the inside lane. Day to day use saw an average of around 24mpg and a steady 75mph indicated cruise gave 27mpg.
