Best place to buy second hand

I am looking at getting a road bike. I currently have a GT Avalanche for off road which is great, however a friend has recently bought a Specialized Allez 18 (second hand) and really likes it. I have had a ride and agree that on road it is much better hence looking for something now.

I dont want to spend a fortune as it would be a second bike and my other hobbies cost me a small fortune anyway. So looking second hand between £200 - £300.

Best places to look please and bikes would be good also.

I am looking at ebay on a regular basis already.

Thanks guys but have been looking at lot at the bike store today online and there are several that do 0% finance which could be a way onto a newer and possibily better bike.

£600 bike, £150 down and then £37.50 per month

Trek 1.2 £599
GT Series 4 £599

any comments on these?
