“One in five people of working age you now meet won’t be employed and 5 million people in this country have never worked under Labour. This is a shocking indictment of Brown’s Britain".

What's more shocking is the fact it isn't even a Daily Mail link so may even harbour an element of truth yikes

That was a Theresa May quote to be fair. However what did grab me was the following snippets:

"A total of 5.75 million inactive people do not want a job." and "The figures also confirmed that the public sector continued to grow throughout the recession.

Public sector jobs increased by 5 per cent over a year to 6.09 million. In all, the state gained 290,000 employers from September 2008 to Sept 2009.

During the same period, private sector jobs fell by 735,000 to 22.82 million."

Fully one third of the workforce are either unwilling to work or in the public sector.

Tbf to Brown, most of this mess was probably instigated when Bliar was at the helm.

But I suppose, Brown was pulling a lot strings as chancellor too, so, yeah, take a good look at your handy work Winky.

Nothing happened without Treasury approval. Brown even lived in No. 10, and Bliar in 11.

this is Brown's Britain...

A plan to install headscarf-shaped arches at both ends of east London's Brick Lane has been criticised by local artists and residents.

Yet amazingly hordes of young eastern europeans have no trouble finding work in our big sheds. There are countless warehouses around the country where the almost the whole workforce can be foreign.

This isn't a Labour or Tory problem.

The seeds were sown a long long time ago.

If we perhaps practiced a little bit more economic sums which add up to 0, perhaps we wouldn't have this ridiculous situation.

If Russian streets were paved with gold, we'd be off like a shot and if kids meant a payday, we'd all have 6.

This is what happens when a good economy with a lot of vitality gets the tapeworm of socialism.

The same is happening is the USA with Obama. The public sector is being used to create jobs, at the expense of the private sector obviously and the country's economic health. The two left-leaning governments are doing the same thing and the countrys are going the same way - down.

No, we need a government who have the sense, to see that further increases in taxation will be counter productive, they need to make the UK as cheap and easy as possible for companies to operate from.

No point taxing people without anything more to spare

The problem we have now is that the Labour Govt have got us into so much debt that no matter who comes into power, taxes will have to go up or else UK Plc will go bankrupt........

But lower taxes and more freedom tends to be a conservative policy as a rule...

We're in the middle of a recession and in one of the poorer areas of the city the council want to spend £2 million on THAT.

Absolutely fking bonkers.

They've asked the public, many people have stepped up and said they don't want it. They'll do it anyway. Local government hard at work again.

Just down the road from me, and my local council.

Yes. Utterly fking bonnkers. They can't clean our streets properly, rape us on council tax and then propose such a structure. It's a farce.

Sound nuts? Then go here:

... and object to the planning application. Anyone can do it, no matter whether you live in or out of borough. In fact, it is probably worth a thread all on it's own ...
