wheel width RL7s

Just a quickie. A while back I had some new tyres fitted to my 17" RL7s. I belive these wheels were standard equiptment on my 98 4.5. My friends alloy and tyre shop fitted tyres for me but mentioned that all four wheels were 8" in width. I still had the 255 section tyres fitted to the rear and 235 sections to the front, but I was of the understnding that the front wheels are 8" and the rears are meant to be 8.5". My friend expressed some concern over to wether these wheels I had were a complete set!.
It seemed strange though as the car was purchased from Alan McDonald Sports cars with only 11k on it and he had sold the car when it was new.
Any thoughts chaps

Yup - 8" front and rear is correct.
