Main Beam on, Front Fogs go OFF!!!!!

just sorting out a few electrical gremlins gettting ready for the MOT, when ever i switch on the main beam the front fog lights go off has this happened to anyone else?

Isn't something like this supposed to happen? I may be wrong but I thought fogs should only be on with the dip beam?

That certainly happened on my old Cavalier GLSi.... Yes your right, the fogs were tied to the dip..

No that's correct, mine do that as well.

Is it? I thought front fogs were not even looked at as part of the MOT. I've certainly passed an MOT with front "driving lights" that were permanently on (Jap Import, I rewired them shortly afterwards)

By front fogs do you mean the 'driving lights' If so, mine only come on when I have the full beams on.

Some S Series have fog lamps, some are driving lamps - same size, different beam pattern.

Fog lamps must go off with full beam, can only appear with sides or dipped. Can only be used in fog or falling snow.

Driving lamps must only come on with main beam, can't be used with sides or dipped.
