Amazing power from a 4.5 with 4.2 induction.

I hit 100 mph uphill on my mountain bike this morning.

No - I simply put the cogs from a Kamasaki Ninja in my ruck sack.

17" spiders but with 35 profile tyres? They don't look as fat as my 40 profile. Other than that it's sitting about right.

Looks good for £8k

looks like a money pit too me. Spiders only in 16 or 18 inches.
Generally these are 35 profile, unusal to see them on 40s.
It looks like it might be on Avos at the rear with no adjustment. Far too high (although they came like that from the factory).

bought with the intention of restoring it but haven't got the time or space, company car forces sale, owner emigrating abroad. are all very common excuses for why people are selling cars after a short period of ownership, its usually because i've bitten off more than i can chew or this is going to cost me are not always good selling points biggrin

the amount of people selling their cars because they're emigrating, i'm surprised there's anyone left in this country!

Just wondering how you're getting 475bhp out of the engine? If you can prove it, I'll buy it.

First thing I would be asking myself is whether the head light conversion was done purley for cosmetic reasons...

Amazing that you can get a front end respray, disks and wheels refrubed for a grand.

Surely not that far off?? I mean a decent front end respray would be about £600 depending on the cost of the colour (can't see the car as I'm at work and it blocks out that site). Then wheel refurb around £60 per wheel which leaves £160 to source some new disks. That sounds pretty reasonable?

I would have thought that 475bhp would be a bit much for a 4.5, but I'm expecting more than that from my 4.7, and I know a couple of 4.5s here have started to come close so you never know??

At any rate, its a cheap car so worth a punt even if it needs some work I'd have thought... If I had some spare cash I'd love a Cerb!

A decent front end respray is £750 plus in my experience. Arent disks £175 each ? Wheels yeah £250 should do it.
As for bhp - the most a standard 4.5 will get with remap is about 420, although most are lower.
A 4.7 is going to be knocking at 450 maybe. 475 is not realistic for any AJP IMHO.

Ah ok, I'm basing my prices from a Chim point of view. Didn't realise that the disks were that much on a Cerb! Yeah I'm not really sure on AJP bhp, I know that the standard ones as you say won't go much past 420. For the race engine I was going to go with a standardish 4.5 which should go for 440ish, but various things have changed my plans so I've changed it to a 4.7 now and hoping to spec it up pretty nicely - I'm quietly confident that it will make some pretty decent numbers.

I'll wait till it runs before I make any guesses though in case it turns out to be rubbish!

Oh ok with some racing AJP stuff then I am sure 450 + will be achieved. If APM is doing it them I am sure he knows where you will end up bhp wise.

Nope not Andy, but he will be supplying the parts. Mr Clegg will be building it - nothing at all against APM though, that was just where I went before deciding to go the 4.7 route smile
