I was racing online last night in a R3 class series. The majority of players were using the Enzo FXX or modded Vipers but 2 guys were using a Mazda think it was the B09/86 jobbie. I Have one of these but it is in the R1 class and you can't buy it any other way.

Is there a way to detune the racecars? ( I will try myself when I get home)
I was driving a R3 Viper and the guys in the Mazda were only just able to out drag me on the straight by about 1 car length so I assume they had less power than normal but once they had some open road they were leaving us all by about 5 sec a lap.

Anyone have one of these beasts?

The Mazda can be detuned, as you've said, it drops into a lower class and then monsters pretty much everything.

Mazda when detuned is R1 handling with R3 performance, i think it's at the top of the leaderboards for R3

I have one, you can drop in a rotary engine downgrade to lower the power and it'll scrape into the R3 class

Bit lacking down the longer straights but in the corners it handles much better than the other R3 cars

Can someone enlighten me as to how some players on Live have class 'X' cars?

I have seen a fair few of these - is it a cheat/crack where you can turn them to another level or Turn 10 guys testing stuff?

Some cars can exceed the R1 PI level, making them X class.

Oh right - that explains it then, I didn't realise another class existed beyond R1 smile

If it's in R3 a 1000BHP Viper is still quicker if you drive the Viper properly. Does ps off the Mazda people and they tend to leave or change car after a few races.

You can modify R1 class cars (removing the restrictors is usually the only option, other than rims) to take them up to 'X' class.

A bit pointless if you ask me, personally I'd prefer to race A or S class.

Indeed, I spend my time modifying my A-class cars usually rather then the top end stuff so therefore not been in the realms of the upper end of the game.
