Which of the open office packages do I need to open a Microsoft .pub document. I have the latest OpenOffice.org 3.1 but cannot find the package opening it

Microsoft Publisher?

As far as I know OpenOffice doesn't support Publisher files as it's not part of the standard Office applications and the format has not been released by Microsoft.
Publisher is a DTP program, and OpenOffice doesn't have a DTP program in it's arsenal.

The best I can offer is an online conversion tool that might be able to create PDFs for you if you just need to view them, or maybe a Word file (which you could then open in OpenOffice) if it's just the text you need.

Thanks for the link. I've converted it to a word file and working on it now.
