Need help with this.
Its my first time using live.

Im running an Ethernet cable from the X-Box to my laptop. Im using a vodafone modem.

When i go to test X-Box liv connection it connects x-box to network and when it trys to connect to internet it says problem with connection.

MY connection is working as im using it right now.

Any ideas what to do ??

maybe something to do with i.p address' not being shared between laptop & xbox? you might need a router, but i dont know for sure sorry!

Im conneted now FINALLY.

BUT its doing an update now and its taking forever
Its really slow

Are you using 3G?? Or wifi?

It will be if you are using a Vodaphone dongle. they arent known for their great latency. Probably not great if you are playing MW2 multiplayer where a low ping and faster upload speed counts.

Im using the USB Dongle.

Dial up would be faster to be honest.

Its shockingly bad. I just googled it and it seems that Vodafone Irelands download is next to useless.
