Just popped into coopers they want £265.00 , have the car up for sale and got into a debate last night wiht a trader who was getting pushy and using the service to try and beat the price down , he was trying to convince me the service was £400.00 . He see to take offence when i told him i thought he got his fact wrong, Just wanted to make sure I had my figures correct,

Nope the first service on an M3 V8 is normally £380-400, and that's from a few different places.

I reckon that coopers have forgotten to add the price of replacing the micro-filter which is also part of the first service.

If not, cracking price.

This is for the 1st service right? Not the running in change.

I hope the OP had the running in service done, otherwise he really WILL know what a "kick in the stones" bid is....!!

Had a few bmw's so know all about the running in service, seen a few over the years that were missed surprisingly heard about one dealwer demo which got missed so even the experts get it wrong.

Just re-ringing round to double check whats included, one place at £350.00 for it at the moment.

The first service after the initial running in service is usually around £350 as I found out in Dec2009. There is posting on here from me as I wanted to find out what others were paying as well.

However I did get a quote for £450 from the supplying BMW dealer which started the original question. From all the conversations I had with the dealers, every one that I spoke too wasn't completely clear which filters were required.

If it's cheaper I would recommend confirming they are including all the filters (I believe three need replacing) and they use the correct spec oil. The oil isn't cheap stuff and will dramatically alter the price, so this may be how they are saving money.

When i got mine done for £210 (price over the phone) got to the dealer to be told a microfilter was due this added £110 to the price, still think the total of £320 is good and still alot cheaper than the dealer i've been using for the last 8-10 years!!!
